PDF Pattern: Caleen (Leaf) Knit Crescent Shawl
A crescent shaped shawl design worked from top down. The design begins with a garter tab cast on and contains a top edge made of Garter stitch. The main body of the shawl is knitted using a stunning lace pattern that resembles leaves that fall from the trees in the Autumn months. The bottom edge of the shawl is knitted directly to the body and is in the shape of leaves.
Needle: US 3 (3.25 mm), 32” (80cm) circular needle. Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Yarn Used: Wandering Wool (Rock Creek Sock; 100% Superwash Merino; 400yds/365.76m; 4oz/100g;
Colorway Cranberry Bog).
Yardage: Approx. 850-900yds/777-823m.
Gauge: 28 sts per 4”/10cm. Gauge is not crucial to this project, but will affect the size and the amount of yarn used.
Final Measurements: Please note that measurements will vary based on the gauge, yarn used, and how aggressively the shawl is blocked.
Pattern includes charts, schematics, and a row count table.
